Character & series animation
Not a character people see once and forget, but one they want to keep meeting. We design personality, expression and movement in detail, and grow the character into the face of your brand.

A good fit forCompanies and institutions with a mascot, kids channels and character IP owners
Character design and asset structure that hold steady past episode ten
Teams managing a brand or public mascot, kids channel, or character IP usually worry about two things when starting a series: 'Will the character's face, proportions, or personality drift as episodes add up?' and 'Will we have to re-explain everything from scratch for every episode with unpredictable costs and schedules?'
A one-off video only needs to look good in those specific cuts, but a series requires a different foundation. Multiple artists must stay on-model across scenes, and assets built in episode one must carry forward so future episodes stay on budget and on schedule.
Concept art and cut-out rigging built for movement and reuse
At the start of a series, we lock concept art (turnarounds, expression sheets, color palettes, and background tone) so every artist works from the same reference. For cut-out animation in particular, the character must be drawn with movement in mind from day one.
A pose that looks good only as a static illustration often breaks at the joints when arms move or the head turns. We design from a standing base pose, accounting for angle changes and occluded parts, then separate PSD layers and rig the character cleanly. Once rigged characters and core background sets are built, later episodes focus on new acting and staging—keeping art quality consistent and shortening turnaround.
Flexible pricing and production mix for series budgets
We plan the budget differently depending on whether it is a one-off character promo or a regular series running quarterly or all year.
- Multi-episode & annual contract savingsWhen commissioning multiple episodes or an annual slate, reusing rigged character assets and background libraries across episodes lowers per-episode cost (negotiated within the KRW 5–15M per minute cut-out range based on episode count and reuse).
- Strategic mix of cut-out, hand-drawn & AIEveryday dialogue scenes run on rigged cut-out assets to save budget while openings or climaxes are reinforced with frame-by-frame cuts. Depending on budget and schedule, we can also apply AI hybrid backgrounds/effects or build full AI short-form series using style-locked workflows.
- Existing IP adaptation & clear rights for new charactersIf you have an existing character guide (AI/PSD), we adapt it into animation-ready assets. When we create a new character from scratch, initial copyright arises with the studio by law, so we clearly set the rights transfer scope and licensing terms in the contract.
Bonggong (2023–2025), YooHoopedia, CeReels, DB Insurance series
We handled full production for Gyeonggi Province's 'Bonggong' daily-life series in 2023 and have continued with road-name address campaigns and the 2025 series (ep01–06). Our long-form series experience also includes Aurora World's 'YooHoopedia' cut-out series, Chungdam Media's CeReels music video animation series (2020–2022, full animation production lead), and DB Insurance's 'Pet Life' and 'GO-Guma Family' series.

Who owns the rights to a newly created character?
When Airship Studio creates a new character, the copyright first belongs to the studio. Transferring the rights to you requires an assignment agreement. The scope of the transfer is set out in the contract, and the license fee is agreed separately.
Can you keep our existing character or webtoon art style?
Yes. But the right method depends on the style. Some styles come closer to the original with cutout or hand-drawn animation than with AI. We look at the original first and suggest the method that fits.
Can we continue with more episodes or another season?
Yes. We can make the next episode or season with the same characters and style, carrying over the settings and materials from the first.
Is pricing different for a series or multiple films?
Yes. Rates can be adjusted for volume work or annual contracts. Feel free to ask.
What kind of film do you need?
Tell us your goal, schedule and budget, and we will reply with an approach and quote within 2–3 business days.
